Revolutionary
Procedure is Safe, Fast, Easy and Effective!
|

Snoring
is more than just annoying; it can be dangerous too. Snoring
can be a major cause of sleep interruptions and may even
lead to sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation can:
- be
a contirbuting factor in traffic crashes and costly errors
at work
- affect
mood, concentration and judgment
- cause
long term health problems
Snoring
can even ruin relationships. Studies by the Mayo Clinic
found scientific evidence that snoring has a negative impact
on the non-snoring mate. Researchers found that non-snoring
partners:
- Wake
up briefly more than 20 times per night
- Lose,
on average, one hour of sleep each night
- Have
fragmented, poor quality sleep
- Become
sleep deprived and irritable

What
Causes Snoring?
|
Snoring
is caused when the soft tissues of the throat, (soft
palate, uvula, tongue and tonsils), relax during sleep
and block the passage of air. As the air moves through
the constricted area, the soft tissues vibrate and rattle,
producing the distinctive sound known as "snoring."
Snoring often gets worse from colds, allergies, use
of drugs or alcohol, smoking, being overweight and aging.
|
|
Who
Snores?
|
- More
than 90 million Americans over 18 snore
- Men
are twice as likely as women to snore
- Overweight
middle-aged men and overweight menopausal women
are likely to snore
- 2/3's
of men over 50 snore
If
you, or someone you love, regularly experience sleep
interruptions because of snoring, there is a new procedure
available that will finally ensure a good night's
sleep.

What
is injection snoreplasty?
|
It
is a successful new procedure to reduce snoring
recently reported in the ENT Journal. Dr. Collins
injects a solution of Sotradecol into the soft palete
to reduce or eliminate palatal flutter, a common
cause of snoring. Most patients, (92%), will experience
relief with one of two injections, although some
may require more.
|
|
Is
Sotradecol safe?
|
|
Stradecol
has an excellent record of safety and effectiveness;
it has been commonly used to treat varicose veins
and vascular tumors and has been safely used in health
care since 1942. There have been no major side effects
reported in its use of injection snoreplasty. A minor
side effect of palatal fullness has been reported
and last for about 48 hours.
|
|
What
can I expect from the procedure, will it be effective?
|
|
Injection
snoreplasty produces fullness in the back of the throat,
casuing snoring to increase for a period of up to
10 days. Once swelling subsides, (after about two
weeks), snoring is gone. Long term succes is not known
yet, but study patients remained stable after one
year.
|
|
How
much will it cost?
|
|
This
effective treatment is very reasonable priced and
is a small price to pay for a good night's sleep.
